Astrology : A Science or Superstition?

Astrology : A Science or Superstition?

Human beings have always been curious to know their future. Whenever someone is in difficulty and cannot easily come out of it, he wants to know whether the days of his misery will come to an end at all. And if yes, then when? When one invests a great deal of time, effort or money into some project, it is natural to wonder whether that investment will bear some fruit. There have always been people around who have successfully predicted future events. Their methods have been different - some people can simply look into the future, some use tarot cards, some draw up an astrological chart which we call horoscopes, some read the lines in the palms of people. One cannot deny that future has been accurately predicted many a times and by many a people. Each successful prediction proves that it is indeed possible to correctly predict future.

In the ancient times, astrologers were held to be in great esteem by the people. There was no difference between astronomers and astrologers. In fact, astronomy and Astrology were not considered to be two different subjects. Many will be surprised to know that most of the renowned scientists of the past, including Sir Isaac Newton, were astrologers too. In ancient India Astrology was known as "Jyotish Shastra" which included predictive Astrology as well as what we know as Astronomy. Needless to say that the astrologers of that era were all great mathematicians too. An accomplished astrologer was called "Trikal-darshee" : one who could see past, present and future. It would perhaps not be an exaggeration to say that Astrology was considered to be the foremost branch of science.

Slowly over a period of time this subject came into disrepute.

How Astrology lost its exalted status?

It is a fact of life that people emulate successful, popular and respected persons. Seeing the social status enjoyed by astrologers, charlatans started masquerading as astrologers. They learnt a few tricks of the trade and started duping gullible people. It was and still is a very lucrative business. An astrologer earns money by making predictions while giving no guarantee that any of his predictions will turn out to be true. There is no money back guarantee :-). Once an astrologer sets up shop, people start coming to him in the hope that may be he will be able to foresee their future correctly. The astrologer is in a wonderful position. For example, he may make predictions about ten persons, getting only one prediction right. The nine persons, about whom he predicted wrongly, will never come back to him. But the tenth person, about which the astrologer was able to predict correctly, will not only come back to him again but also refer many other persons to him, citing personal experience. In this way, the business of an astrologer always flourishes, no matter how he himself fares in his trade. But the downside of this was that astrologers, as a group, started being seen as a lot of dubious persons like politicians of the modern age. Once such impression started gaining ground, Astrology as a subject no longer remained attractive to intelligent persons. People, who had talent, started to pursue other fields of knowledge. Over a period of time, the inevitable happened. No talent, worth its salt, chose to pursue Astrology as a vocation or a hobby and the outcome of this is for everyone to see in the present times.

There was one more very important reason for Astrology becoming one of the lesser fields of knowledge. It was the decline of India, the fountainhead of human civilization, and its loss of status as the repository of all the knowledge of the ancient world Islamic hordes, who attacked and looted India many a times and later ruled that country for hundred of years, had no respect for priceless works of art, the magnificent architecture and the other exalted areas of human endeavor. They destroyed most of the ancient temples, burnt down libraries like Nalanda and Takshshila and permanently took away innumerable books of infinite wisdom from the future generations of humanity. A great amount of recorded knowledge was lost, astrological books included. This loss proved to be irreparable, as the then Indian society became engaged in ensuring its survival and a constant struggle against the aggressors. The few people, who had some invaluable texts and scriptures with them, were hard put to preserve the remaining works of ancient sages. That is why, when one studies Astrology , he feels as if some vital links are missing. With the Hindu philosophy losing its ground it was natural that Astrology would lose its prominent place too. As the modern science developed and the scientific temperament gained ground, with the dearth of genuine astrologers, Astrology started fading into oblivion.

The criticism and The defense

Astrology is scoffed at by people for two main reasons. First, of course, is that the predictions made by astrologers often goes wrong. Secondly, if one takes his horoscope to different astrologers, they make different predictions. They even make different horoscopes given the same set of data regarding the birth of a person. These facts force people conclude that Astrology is not a science and that it is only a means to befool people for the astrologers' benefit.

One cannot deny that the reasons cited above are valid. Nonetheless, there is some element of prejudice against Astrology which also plays some part in the denigration of this subject. Let us take an example to illustrate this point.

A man falls sick due to some disease. He goes to his neighborhood doctor. The doctor advises him to go for some tests. After seeing the results of those tests and considering the patient's symptoms, the doctor concludes that the man has contracted some particular disease say, Sickosis :-). He prescribes some medicines and the patient goes home in the hope of getting rid of the sickness as soon as possible. After taking the medicines for next two days, the patient finds that the medicines are not working the way they were supposed to work. He goes back to the doctor and the doctor changes the medicines and the person starts responding to the second set of medication immediately. Within a few days, the person is back to his old healthy self.

What would have happened if the person had not responded to that second set of medicines? Most probably he would have gone to another doctor. That doctor would have advised him to go for more tests, diagnosed his problem as per his own knowledge and experience and treated him accordingly. Again, there would have been the same probability of the patient getting rid of his disease.

So, in the end it boils down to problem of correct diagnosis. As soon as the disease is identified correctly, it can be treated successfully. The doctor's problem is to identify the disease correctly, given the symptoms and the results of the tests conducted. In fact, he guesses the disease based on the symptoms the patient displays and to confirm his suspicions the doctor asks the patient to undergo a particular set of tests. If the doctor's first guess is proved wrong, he suggests another set of tests to the patient aimed at confirming his second best guess of the disease.

There is one more element which may mar the chances of the patient getting better: the test results. If the lab conducting those tests makes a mistake, the doctor is bound to be misled by the results. It has also been observed many a times that even with the same symptoms and the same set of test results, different doctors may diagnose the problem differently.

The same thing, when happening in the context of Astrology , is proffered as a proof that it is not a science. When a doctor makes a mistake, his skills are blamed not the Medical Science. But if an astrologer fails, it is Astrology which is considered a pseudo-science. If doctors can arrive at different conclusions on the basis of same data, why astrologers should not be allowed to differ with each other. If you take the blood samples of the same patient to different labs, you are almost certain to find differences in their findings. If the machines built with all our scientific knowledge at our disposal make mistakes, no one denigrates modern science itself. But when it comes to Astrology, people are only too ready to dismiss it. Perhaps, by doing this, people want to prove that they have, what is called, scientific temperament.

Why Astrologers go wrong in their prediction?

  • Lack of knowledge: This is perhaps the foremost reason. Most of the astrologers, after learning a bit, find it difficult to resist the temptation to start making predictions. A certain percentage of their predictions do turn out to be true since they have learnt a little bit of Astrology after all. They cannot hold themselves back from showing off their half baked knowledge. Another reason if the temptation to start reaping, as soon as possible, the fruits of their efforts made in learning the subject. Once the customers start flocking to them, they lose the urge to keep learning further. Also, they are left with little spare time to make further efforts to learn more. They get too busy duping people.

  • Lack of Talent: In the modern times, since the pursuit of this subject is not considered very respectable, persons of genius do not take up the study of Astrology. They would rather prefer to become scientists, engineers, doctors, littérateurs, artists etc. This does not help the development of Astrology nor does it help add to the knowledge or find the missing links in this subject. Currently, there are no serious research projects related to this field. Thus this base of knowledge does not get updated.

  • Incorrect Data: As the very basis of Astrology is mathematical, the data such as time of birth etc. must be accurate. If this data is incorrect, the horoscope and consequently the interpretation of it is bound to be faulty. The position of cusps, house divisions, and the planetary positions at any given moment needs to be accurate too. The numerous ephemeris differ from each other so much that it seems incredible. One must follow the most accurate data (for example, from NASA) for calculations, in this age of science. Normally, astrologers tend to take the easy route, that of following some ready-reckoner sort of things, leading to inaccuracies in their calculations.

  • Destiny of the subject: It may so happen that the fate of the person who wants his future read, does not favor the person in knowing his future. This idea may seem far fetched but it is not. Even in modern times, with all the development of medical science, patients keep dying of fully treatable diseases. If a person is destined to die of pneumonia, he will in spite of the fact that millions of people around the world are successfully treated for it every year. If fate can play a role here why cannot it play the same role regarding Astrology.

  • The very nature of Future: Modern science divides the universe in two parts: known and the unknown. It is believed that whatever is unknown today, will become known tomorrow. Over a period of time, every thing will become known one day. But the enlightened sages have said that certain aspects of the existence is unknowable. These things do not belong in the domain of human knowledge. Certain aspects of future also belongs to the same domain.

Anyone, who will study Astrology with an open mind, cannot dismiss it as something without merit. It is an easy task for astrologers to correctly tell certain things about a man, such as his physical characteristics, diseases he is likely to get afflicted with, his temperament, his overall success in life in terms of money he earns or fame he achieves, the nature of his profession etc., simply by looking at his correctly drawn horoscope. It is in the matters of details and the timing of events that astrologers tend to go awry. What is needed is a fresh approach to the subject. Brilliant minds should take it up for study, correct some anomalies and misconceptions which this science has acquired over the long past. Then only this subject can regain its rightful place as a serious and important branch of knowledge.

Yoga Adult Learners

Adult Learners
When designing online multimedia courses for adult learners, it is important to look at the impact of online education as well as the attitudes the adult learners have about themselves in correlation to the subject matter. Research has found that while adult learners are intrinsically motivated towards learning; learning that is imposed on adults will be ineffective and met with resistance. The content should be designed in a way to accurately assess the needs of the adult student as well as the willingness to participate and the likelihood of success. (Donavant, 2007)  Over 30 years ago, Malcolm Knowles developed a model of teaching adults as a separate practice from the teaching of children recognizing that adults having different needs than child learners. He based his model on six assumptions of adult learning: that adults need to know why they are learning something, that they have more self- directed personalities toward learning, that their life experience becomes a valuable resource to them, that the content must be relevant to the adult learners life, the orientation of the learning should be problem centered instead of task centered, and that adults are motivated to learn. (Donavant, 2007) These concepts support an online learning framework that is interactive, collaborate, and constructive. Web 2.0 tools such as wiki’s, blogs, video, and podcast can be integrated into instruction to support adult learners and their unique educational needs. (Donavant, 2007)
For online learning to be effective for the adult learner, it is important that the curriculum objectives are well thought out and that the main focus of the educational experience is the students. It is difficult to achieve this without proper planning on the part of the designer of the instructional module. Distance education plans can be used to give educators involved in online course development a roadmap for their class instruction. Six important factors in creating online instruction to be focused on the needs of the learner are the assessment, guidance, community building, communication, humanizing and evaluation. Kundalini

Kundalini
Kundalini, meaning serpent, is the name given to the latent spiritual energy lying dormant at the base of the spine, coiled three and a half times around mooladhara chakra and blocking the entrance to sushumna nadi. Yoga practices, specifically those aimed at mooldadhara chakra, rouse kundalini. This awakening can be a major event in a person’s yogic life.

In Kundalini Tantra, Swami Satyananda Saraswati warns of the importance of doing practices to awaken ajna chakra at the same time as Mooladhara chakra so that we have the intelligence and discriminatory judgement to handle this awakening.

Kundalini is also known as kundalini shakti – the female principle and the energy that moves. The purpose of kundalini is to rise up the spine, awakening each chakra in turn and eventually uniting with Shiva, and turning into pure consciousness at the top of the energy system. Then Shiva and Shakti unite. In tantric images, this state of enlightened bliss is depicted as a man and a woman entwined in an embrace.

HYP pg 160 “When kundalini shakti reaches sahasrara chakra then the last traces of karma and ego are destroyed. As the kundalini moves up sushumna the various samskaras stored in each of the chakras are pulled forth into manifestation”.

Chakras on kundalini

Chakras
The 7 chakras lie along the central line of sushumna nadi and are intersected by ida and pingala nadi. The chakras are swirling vortexes of energy, or energy junctions where energy flowing around the body in the nadis comes together – like a major road junction.

Each chakra’s energy is of a different density and vibration, moving from denser and more gross at the base of the spine, to less dense and more subtle higher up the spine. HYP pg 160 – reading.

The 7 chakras are divided 3 below the heart and 3 above. The 3 below are the lower chakras more related to our animal past and present and the 3 higher ones are more to do with what makes us uniquely human and the capacity to rise above our instincts etc and pursue spiritual and moral goals.

The heart mediates between these two halves of the chakra system, showing how important it is to be heart centred, and live and work with love and compassion. Everything we do or think without a heart element could be questionable?

Mooladhara/base chakra – perineum/cervix, red. Four petalled lotus, excretory and reproductive glands. Mool means root

Swadhisthana – two fingers up (so very close), organge/vermilion six petal lotus. Sacral plexus, urinary and reproductive systems.

Manipura – behind navel, yellow, ten petal lotus, solar plexus, Digestion, agni, prana storehouse.

Anahata – centre of chest, heart centre, blue (sometimes green), 12 petals, heart, respiration, thymus gland, emotions of love/hate compassion/cruelty.

Vishuddhi – throat, purple, 16 petals, neck, thyroid gland, speech, truth, communication.

Ajna – eyebrow centre, silvery grey, two petals. More manas shakti than prana shakti. Command centre, pineal gland, third eye through which subtle world can be perceived and gateway to liberation.

Sahasrara – crown of the head, pituitary gland. Thousand petals on this lotus. When kundalini shakti passes beyond ajna to saharara, duality and ego cease to exist.

Symbology of Mooladhara Chakra – pg 139 of Kundalini Tantra.

Astrology Finding Signification of Planets

Finding Signification of Planets

A planet signifies various houses in the order of strength as follows -

Level 1. House occupied by the star lord of the planet
Level 2. House occupied by the planet itselfLevel 3. Houses owned by the star lord of the planet Level 4. Houses owned by the planet itself

As this signification is in the order of strength, signification at level 1 is more powerful than signification at level 2. Signification at level 2 is more powerful than signification at level 3 and so on. Level 1 to 4 is usually mentioned as grade A to E  signnificators.

Suppose we have to find signification for the planet ‘Mars’ in example chart. Here are the signified houses -
Level 1. Mars’s star lord is Venus who is in house no. 11Level 2. Mars is in house no. 9Level 3. Mars’s star is Venus who owns house no. 2, 3, 7Level 4. Mars owns house no. 1, 8, 9

We can say that Mars signifies houses 11, 2, 3, 7, 9, 1, 8 in this chart.

Let us take another planet ‘Moon’ -
Level 1. Moon’s star lord Mercury is in house no. 10Level 2. Moon occupies 5th houseLevel 3. Moon’s star lord Mercury owns 4th HouseLevel 4. Moon owns 5th house

So, we can say that Moon signifies houses 10, 4, and 5.

We can tabulate signification of the planets in our example chart as follows -
 Planet Level 1
(star lord's occupancy)
Level 2
(occupancy)
Level 3
(star lord's ownership)
Level 4
(ownership)
 Sun  10 10  6  6

Traditional Astrology

The world is dominated both by Theism and Atheism respectively as two philosophical doctrines but it is being ruled over by astrology in all respects and this truth is being accepted even by atheists. This Naadi Astrology is prominent every where and being supported by atheism. This art of Naadi Astrology is a successful combination of spiritualism and scientific research to find out the future of the individuals. It predicts the future of the individuals sans any slip even to the microscopic level of an atom. Hence, it is being respected and portrayed by the people of various realms. If we do research to find out the differences between natal astrology and Naadi Astrology, prediction based upon arithmetical calculation by men is natal astrology and forecasting by the Rishis with the help of their spiritual power is Naadi astrology.

Envisaging their future out of spiritual wisdom, the Rishis of our ancient past recorded the predictions of some individuals on palm leaves. The arithmetical predictions being predicted by some ordinary people may lead to failure often in most of the cases, they want to deal. By observing the positions of planets in the horoscope, predicting the future of the individuals seems to be defective and erosive; not accurate and valid and it proves futile often. This is perhaps due to complications in observing the correct birth time of a child. The time at which the head of the baby coming out from the womb of its mother is the correct birth time of a baby. No one records the birth time accurately and it causes so many complications often. So keeping aside all these erosive methods, let us look in to the forecasting made by the Rishis and sages of our ancient past based on their spiritual wisdom, leaving arithmetical calculations. Hence the predictions being expounded by the Rishis and sages for the well being of the mankind are valid and accurate and it never fails because of their spiritual word power. This is being predicated with the help of thumb impression of the individual. To those, who are unable to visit in person, we have attached a questionnaire and it may be mailed to us duly filled in neatly and correctly with the details, we require to find out their leaves among the lacks and lacks of palm leaves we preserve in our repository.

A good reading gives a full life story from birth to death and often also about one's previous and possible next incarnation or goes straight to the point of matter.

The predictions and their correctness vary according to the Naadi consulted. We are presently most impressed by the Naadi's compiled on astrological facts. Another kind of reading can be had by asking concrete questions and is called for prasna Naadi's.

My experiences in this life time begins with the literature written by several spiritual people, professors, pundits and scholars, researching a lifetime, some from the 18th, 19th, 20th century and present century, combined with my personal experiences and travels throughout India.

Then after some years of research, in 1993, I had a dream and vision of Devi Saraswathy (The Goddess of knowledge/learning and Holy mother of Saint Bhrigu). I was bowing down in prayer before the Mother who presented before me several Naadi's with different names, and receiving her blessings, - calling me to come to Her.

Within a month thereafter I went to India and visited a Bhrigu Samhita in North India . After locating my patri - reading, Saint Bhriguji explained to me about my dream, about Parvathi His Mother and said that's the reason for coming this time and to that particularly Naadi.

The reading went on for two full days and the night between the two days, Lord Shiva came to me, - merged into my body and soul blessing me beyond verbally expression.

The day after, Saint Bhriguji starts telling about that particularly merging and the blessing of Lord Shiva and explains in details about the future and what will come thereafter??

This reading took two days and if I had taken all the chapters it would have lasted about 3-4 weeks according to the reader.

A. Ganesh & Shakti Naadi states following : ”Any genuine Naadi is based on the 360 degrees of the Zodiac, divided into the 12 signs, each containing 150 whole nadiamsas or 300 half amsas, but the Ganesh Naadi is divided into 1800 nadiamsas for each of the 12 signs and is therefore very accurate in its interpretations. There are 21.600 different amsas or basic destinies, calculated from the 24 hours a day, corresponding to one individual destiny per 3 seconds. The Sahadeva Naadi is also said to contain a total of 21.600 basic descriptions of destinies”.

”The figure 21.600 corresponds to the number of man's daily inhalations and exhalations, as stated by the yogi's, that is the basic of all things and the 5 elements of the body as well as the astrological fundamental knowledge and insight”.

”Additionally there will be different signs in the hands, face and body and these signs can only be seen by God.”

B . Dr. B.V. Raman once asked a Jaimini Naadi exactly what was the basis and secrets of these texts:”he was told that there are a total of 72 Rishi Naadi's of which 36 are mantra Naadi's and that these will give accurate information's about the past unto the time of consultation. Each of these Mantra Naadi's contains 1, 32,360 horoscopes. The predictions for the future will generally be uncertain. These collections are not based on the principles of astrology, but realized or seen by divine insight or commanding a siddhi, though practicing special mantras.

There are 36 Tantra Naadi's, based on the position of the planets in rasi, nawamsa and other sub-divisions. Each Tantra Naadi contains 15, 88,320 horoscopes, and horoscopes will be re-written and carried on every 360 years. The predictions of these horoscopes are fairly accurate and reliable. It is said that Brahma Naadi is the most reliable.

Then there are 72 Prasna Naadi's, 36 of these will answers based on whether the person gives the name of a fruit, color, a number, and 18 others will give answers based on flowers and another 18 based on the time when the question is asked.

Some Naadi's know what one is thinking, but the answers will not always be correct. Other Naadi's will give correct answers but the nature of question will not be known”.

C. Siddhanta Kanda Naadi, which is a dialogue between the 18 Siddhas: Kaga Bujandar asks:” Even through there are many different Naadi collections in the world, which apply the best principles, there are also many prophecies, which do not come true, and how can that be? If there is such a defect, how can people believe in the genuineness of these collections and what they say? Please help me to remove my doubts”

Another Siddhar named Kakayar replies:” Even through everything stated in these collections is quite accurate, errors will sometimes occur. This is mainly because of the presence of Kali Yuga (present time), which will have a negative influence on people's morals and the readers will therefore sometimes lack the correct sense of responsibility. A reader must be religious and pure of heart and must perform the daily poojas as decreed, if the reader is not of good quality, the results will not always materialize. The readers who lie and do not perform their daily poojas, will find no benefits or joy having a Naadi”. (Their lives may be very unhappy etc.)

We can presently help you to have a genuine Naadi reading from different collections such as Agastiya Jeeva Naadi, Vashista Naadi, Mahasiva Naadi Muruga & Vineyka Naadi, Kagabujandar Naadi, Sukar Naadi, Bhrigu Samhita and others. We use tree different kinds of Naadi's.

A. One system uses the thumb impression and a questionnaire to be filled out. This system gives quite many details and names but the predictions given may only come true in 60-65 % of cases. This system is based on the Vakya or calculations as seen by the Maharishis and very often not quite in accordance with the astronomical calculations. This category mostly belongs to the Mantra Naadi.

B. The other system uses the year, month, date, time and place. This system gives also very detailed information, not always names but the predictions most often comes true in 80 - 90 % of cases. These are Naadi's based on astrological facts and calculations and the planets and the ascending sign corresponds to the correct astronomical calculations. This category belongs to the Tantra Naadi.

C. Additionally one can get information through what is called prasnas, meaning asking concrete questions. The answers are mostly based on the planets at the time of asking the questions, up to 5 questions. This category is a combination of the 72 kinds of Prasna Naadi's.

Spiritual aspirants from the West are going in droves to India, because they are attracted by its ancient wisdom, which teaches the way to acquire inner calm and inner light. Westerners have become apprehensive of the calamity towards which their countries have headed and have confirmed the validity of many spiritual practices that are common place in India. Nadi Astrology is one such practice.

The intuitive vision of the highly sensitive inner eye of the Indian Sages was able to discover many secrets of the universe and to peep into the past, or as far into the future as they were inclined. For example, 5,043 years before the Independence of India it was written that "India would free itself from the rule of a strange race from the far West in the year of Nanda." And, India did in fact achieve independence from Western rule in the year of Nanda.

While this is only one such example among the many, we can use it as a reason to ask, "on what basis does the ancient science of Nadi Astrology rest." The answer may not satisfy everyone, because its basis is not as scientific as the modern science demands. It is based on intuitive spiritual experience.

History of the leaves in modern times

Now, while the leaves have a spiritual ancestry of more than five thousand years, modern technology has so far only been able to trace the origin of these leaves back to approximately two to three thousand years.

That being the case, there are many myths, stories and legends that surround these sacred and holy leaves and one such story says that in year 1540 the Muslim moguls invaded the state of Tamil Nadu and found the ancient leaves in the confines of a King's palace in Tanjor. The bundles of leaves were of little concern to the Muslims at that time, because they didn't understand the language in which they were written, or the rich, spiritual heritage that was so carefully inscribed in these fragile leaves. Consequently, orders were given for them to be destroyed! However, before this command was undertaken, Sage Agastya appeared in a dream to an astrologer and told him to go immediately to the King's palace and save these precious spiritual manuscripts. He told the astrologer that if he was successful in saving the leaves, he would be granted success for his and his family's lives for many generations to come.

The astrologer obeyed Sage Agastya's commands and walked approximately 120 kilometers to the palace, whereupon he found all the leaves, still intact, exactly as had been shown to him in the dream. The astrologer recognized the sacredness of this amazing find and he and his subsequent lineage of generations protected the leaves in the interests of humanity. This family is called the "Shiva family" and even today, they honor and respect their responsibility with the sacred leaves.

Another story, which is the one that seems to be most accepted by astrologers today, tells how the leaves were stored in the Palace at Tanjor and protected by the King. An ancestor of the Shiva family was an astrologer to the King and lived in the Tanjor Palace. The King was so pleased with his devotion, dedication to his work and service to the royal family that he gave the man permission to copy the leaves for his own personal use. These leaves were then given into the custody of the Shiva family and are deemed reliable, accurate and complete.

Hence, the astrologers in the Shiva family have taken on the responsibility of continuing this spiritual legacy for the benefit of mankind; and have protected the leaves and been forecasting from them for many generations. So the actual story of how these leaves came into being into the Shiva family is perhaps not important. What does seem to be accepted as fact with all, or most, Nadi Astrologers is that the Shiva family was the original custodian of this sacred script.

The British also came to know of the Nadi leaves and set about to acquire them because of the depth of medical, scientific, philosophical and spiritual wisdom they held. In fact, in some of the leaves the basic rules of modern scientific inventions are explained. However, while the British were interested in the scientific information, they fortunately left all the leaves pertaining to astrology in Tamil Nadu and auctioned the others off. And today, there are people who are interested in retrieving copies of these leaves for historical and archival significance.

Now, as time passed there were other astrologers who recognized the value of the leaves and also wanted to participate in this work. These astrologers copied some of the leaves, took them to their particular villages and shared them with other astrologers. Thus, it is for this reason that there are to this day, incomplete collections of leaves in different parts of India. And consequently, there are many serious scholars of Nadi astrology who believe that the original collection held by the Shiva family, is the only true and legitimate collection of leaves.
